Its a 3" 45, I did start having some issues right after I installed that one. (However I installed multiple things at once at that time. Like an egt gauge) Ill go find a 4" 45 street pipe and cut one end off/shave it down and see what that does.

So for anyone wondering, no the 6.0 and SD 7.3 intercooler tubes and e99 spyder is not an "easy" install. Just taking off the front header support is an adventure. The passenger side 7.3 tube is very hard to get in there and u have to figure out how to re-route some of your cables/hoses/tubes. The front bumper bracket makes it hard to get the 6.0 intercooler in there and be able to move it properly. You have to cut away some of your front core support. The e99 you still have to either drill&tap&plug or weld the holes shut. Then once you get your intercooler in the right spot your have to build brackets that accept the intercooler, and the 6.0 tranny cooler inside of the front grill. If your gonna do an intercooler, just buy a kit. Its worth it. I already screwed up and broke my front header support bracket and I cut my 12" long cooler tube too short. So Im waiting for more to come in. Yayy ford, only you could make a front header support that takes a contortionist to take it out.

So, are you saying your SD pipes didn't bolt in? Did you have to weld anything? A couple other guys I talked to said stuff has to be fabbed. I keep getting different stories LOL I am finally getting an E99 spyder that someone else has and didn't use. Do you happen to have any pics?

On my 96 mule I had to mod the pipes (make them longer) to make the connections at the spyder.

I am using SD steel pipes and all aluminum intercooler and had to add 2" to the pipes at specific locations. The core support does get cut to run the pipe through but it all seemed a lot easier than turboing and inter cooling a new nissan 350z.

Put some photos up and ask a few questions... We all like to help a fellow out.

I am just having a heck of a time finding pipes. Anyone know where to look? I have seen the kit, but I am not sure that will even fit our trucks.

CX or banks both make kits.

If you diy I would upgrade to 3" plenums at the same time and make the "y" properly big .

They "bolted on" but your gonna have to do some plugging for the e99 spyder. Your also gonna have to be creative on your piping if you get the SD pipes.

Interesting, was it both sides that u had to mod at the spyder? Im not having to mod my passenger spyder side. Im just putting a 10" hose on my passenger side at the intercooler. My driver side went in like a dream, I just used an 8" tube at the spider for the driver side.

What SD Steel pipes are you talking about, the SD pipes I have are aluminum. I know that because when I took a magnet to it, it didnt stick and a steel wire wheel eats away at them.

Im having issues with whatever the T hose is that is coming out of the side of the passenger side of the motor. Anyone know what this is for?

These are for SD 7.3s and will run u $150. But youll run into the issues Im having. The guy that does the GTS pipes is on powerstroke nation. I posted a thread on there and someone said that u could contact the gts guy by emailing him. But your gonna be in the $400 range for the piping.

Honestly Your better off selling that e99 for some profit, and buying the CX racing kit, and just putting a 6.0 cooler on the end of the cx racing kit. And selling the cx racing kit intercooler. Itll save you ALOT of headach for the amount of money your gonna spend for the DIY parts and pieces. Honestly DIY isnt worth it anymore, it was back when the old numbered members found them and moded them for $200 total. Even with the good deals Ive found Im still at $700 with everything. I wish I could just sell my setup for $600 and buy the cx racing kit. That being said, Im only a few brackets and 1 long tube away from being finished.

. Those aluminum tubes make that hard. Some trucks had steel pipes tho. That would be infinetly easier.

Did you ever get the bottleneck out of your intake system?

No to the front clip. Id imagine with the amount our C-channel frames bend and twist Id rip the IC apart if I mounted it to the frame.

Oh really, I wonder how rare the steel ones are, I never knew they came with steel. Seems like it would rust, even powder coating would rust after a while.

I did, I modified the 4" 45 degree street elbow I had laying around. Thanks for the advice.

Id imagine all the oil from the valve cover gaskets that leaks through coats it and helps prevent rust.
