Hello Fella's I need help I busted my oil pan on my 1997 f150 4.2l 4x4 truck!! it is a 5spd which I don't think matters BUT anyway all the info I can fin on a oil pan says a pan from a 97-2008 will work !! the local auto shop wants $139.99 and would have to order it! I found one on a 2003!! SO now I have removed both ( NOT FUN ) and the 2003 oil pan is not deep enough do to the studs for the front mains !! how can I get this oil pan to work or what am I doing wrong ?

Spend the money and get the new one. If it doesn't fit, then I guess look for another 1997 pan.
