Most likely they are not H.S.S.(high speed steel) which makes a better tool.

Compare the cost of lower end sets to high end sets.HSS sets cost a lot more than the carbon steel sets.

If anybody has any NOS old style Ace/Hanson round dies in 10x24 tpi (3 ea), 6x32 tpi (2 ea), 4x36 tpi (1 ea), and/or 7/16x20 tpi (1 ea) I'm your buyer. Stu

I have the Sears set and I can't live without it. Good to reform threads without cutting metal. Gaps to collect doo-doo work great to chase threads in my engine blocks before assembly.
