Thumbs up Why This (EXCURSION) Forum Rocks...A Happy Tale of Community and Caring

We now have another fine example of how and why this particular forum (EX forum) is way better than any other.

A few days ago my friend (I don't use the term loosely) and our towing sherpa Tom WE3ZS posted about some '04 HD wheels from his local CL.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...d-18-rims.html

We proceeded to communicate with the seller and Tom took the lead, so without going into the twists and turns or gritty details of your typical CL purchase.

What a bargain? Three wheels for only $750.

I have been looking for H-D OEM wheels for almost a year and every time I found them they were $1000-$1500 without tires or bald tires or they were already sold. I had a price in my mind of $150-$200 per wheel I didn't "need" them since I just purchased new skins for the OEM 16" in September...MEH. Tom and I had even exchanged PM's regarding a 'fair' price and this was the number.

Much like the EPIC to find APOC a V10 this group in this forum shines bright.

I just have to figure out how to get them from PA to GA.

Rep him if you've got them!

Great story Mark, I repped Tom yesterday for him always helping people with his towing and suspension knowledge. Tom defitnetly has stepped in since EXHEMIGUY left us.

Good Job Tom! I'm happy to be part of this forum.

Thanks William, you of all people know our shared history with 'friends'.

I have been meaning to ask, What is up with the squiggly line in your avatar pic?

Is it an anomaly or manufactured in editing?

The squiggly line was pure luck. The paint line was perfectly straight, and the stutter bumps in the shoulder freaked out my Cel cam. The right speed, and the right light made for a supercool desert pic.

Hooraaaaaaay, Tom.

That's awesome, I wondered how many emails that poor seller got!

I'm holding out for the Lariat wheels like Tom has, I think it will be a while...

Feel free to send them past me! I'll do my upgrades to them for free!

I've said it once and I'll say it again, Tom is invaluable. (Along with many others)

Little jelly Mark... Those'll look sweet.

Wish I could afford 35's in an 18" rim, until them in sticking to these 16's lol.

Congrats, and another reason why I also frequent this forum. Apoc gave me a sweet deal on his old headlights that should be going in next weekend...

There are a lot of go-to guys (and gals) here that have been invaluable to me (many of which are in this thread). I've been on a lot of automotive forums over the years, depending on what I owned, and this one is by far the best of the best (Especially the Excursion and Super Duty sections). I hope that I can meet some of y'all in person sometime.
