Taking pride in what you do, reflects well on your Mom & Dad, or who ever instilled that part in your character. Congratulations on your perseverance, and your Gem of a find. I enjoy seeing any old car or truck, still being used. Having a 'Perfect' or nearly perfect old truck, is a dream for most of us. In reality though, just keeping a 40+ year old truck on the road is enough for most of us. I even take pride in my new tail light lenses, even if they are from China, or wherever. Something as small as that, improves my old rig a tiny bit, even though I am far from original & stock. After 45 years, and over 400K miles, my truck wears the use as a badge of experience. It has never shirked a duty, and has gone cheerfully into weather fair & foul.

For those of you who asked, why am I selling these NOS parts? Here's what I put on my listing.
4-22-15
I'm here to answer a question.
Why am I selling these NOS parts if it took me so long to get them? That's easy,
The Hunt Is Over!!!
Have you ever set out to do something and succeeded? Remember that feeling? I started
a few years ago, I wanted to find all NOS parts for the Holy Grail of grilles,
The "1969 Ford Ranger" in NOS form. And I did it. I've owned one Ranger and loved it.
I've had three other bumps since then. I can't hold on to the trucks because they sell as fast as I get
them. I have one show truck and that's a 1964 F100 My grille is custom and one off.
All the grilles I do are for those of you who have bumps and want the best, that's what I do.
Unlike other sellers, my work is for you bump owners. Other sellers sell daily driver grilles at
super inflated prices, what do you get from that? Nothing, they get a fat wallet and you get a driver
grille. My grilles are the best AND YOU GET THAT!
How many of you thought to assemble a NOS grille assembly for your truck? How many have
tried? NOS parts are not easy to come by as you all know. This setup proves that. I know if I hang
on to this setup for awhile the price can and will go up, but... that's not what I'm about.
I am robertthegrilleguy and I sell grilles...... and some other parts too.
I hope I have answered the question.

Rob, no arguments from me. I thought the original post sounded like you had found it for a project, and then the ad on eBay was confusing since you included the same photo.

I'd be tempted, but my truck isn't true to its origins. It is heading down a custom path, and I drive it, so ponying up for NOS isn't in my plans. A nice grille might be, and I don't have an issue with someone adding value by hunting it down and reconditioning it. We all deserve to be compensated for our efforts.

If you look closely you can see some grinder marks on the top bar just under the "D" in FORD. I drive it a little too much to want to worry about a pristine NOS grille. Once I'm done spending on building a new engine for it, maybe I can sneak a new grill in past my wife.

Robert, my hat is off to you, I love seeing people with enough pride in their work to do that quality of work.
I also know what you mean about "The Hunt is Over", to me the best part of building these trucks is the challenge's in finding or building the right part.

Kudos Robert, and 2X on the good work amigo. Love that hunt. I finally found a factory under-dash A/C unit, by 'Fridgeking' and scored it for very reasonable. The thrill is not gone, but will be relived each time I turn it on, (and it works), after install.

Good luck, on the next treasure 'Hunt'

Hey Baja try to run r-12 if you can why well with r134a you'll need to run a electric cooling fan so you have better AC cooling in city stop & go driving.

If you don't then you'll r134 system ac dash unit will blow warm air with the OEM fan. It don't move enough air flow through the condenser.

Just a heads up my brother in arms.

Sorry to Hi jack the page

Thanks Orich, I will try that. I am pretty sure that you can still buy R-12 in Baja, and its cheaper. My 300 IL 6 has an all aluminum 4 core radiator, and a 7 blade fan, with no clutch on the fan, so it moves lots of air. In fact, I usually have to drive 10 to 12 miles go get the temp needle off the 'C' mark. Hope to put the rest of the pieces together, before I head back South in early June.

Anybody out there have, or know where I can find, the compressor mount brackets for a 300 IL 6 ?? Should be plenty out there, as that same motor was used into the early 90's.. Prolly some in Baja, but hard to look from here..

Thanks again for the tip amigo, take care of yourself brother

Yellow Truck,
I love that little black pin stripe, in the red on your 'Sweet Ride'. Nice touch amigo. I may do that on mine, with white in the turquoise. I will give you credit, when people comment.

Not sure how new, but any of those old ones, like pre 80's would do the trick for sure. I will try to find out today... meanwhile, thanks amigo, and some of the pnp guys might know...?? Its all adjustable, if its metal. Plenty of room under the hood..

I was at a yard here in Vegas last weekend and found an early to mid 80's F150 with the 4.9 and it had what looked like brackets that would work. I don't think much was changed on the blocks other than eliminating the manual fuel pump hole once they switched to fuel injection.

Right Jeff,

My old rig does have the old style 'V' belts, which are still available here, even at our little mom 'n pop auto parts. You guys would laugh, cuz its in their living room... Thanks for looking though. I'll bet Ford changed something with the Serp. belt, prolly for line up with the Vib damper..
