To build a Flareside (with pics)

No, it's a Ford color (Google it) ; not sure when they came out with it but my brother's 1993 Taurus SHO is painted that color, it looks pretty dang good when it's taken care of (which my bro's isn't, his needs repainting badly but I come across other vehicles with that color that looks spectacular when they've been properly maintained).

Here's a good paint reference link - Ebony black is code UA, or Ford paint code 6373... PPG 9700
Color Codes - Ebony Paint Cross-Reference Black&con=1&page=2&rows=50
To Ctubutis' point it was on the Taurus, and I found also it was on some of the Ford trucks like the '94 F150 and Broncos

Assembly!
Finally got some good weather this weekend - good temperatures, no rain and low humidity. Was able to get the final coats of paint onto the bed - the shorter days and rain in our area have made working on it tough.
With painting done, my awesome wife is giving up her garage parking for a bit so that we can get the floor assembled. Here are some pics - the SEM Trim Black paint turned out pretty nice for a temporary solution.
I'm in that place where I'm trying to balance "the urge for perfection" with "getting it done"

Thnaks for the honors...
Thx for your kind words. But this was possible through all th ehelp here. Right now, I´m on hold for continuing the build.
I currently enjoy driving it around. Next will be cutting out the floorpans and replace those. I have started to take out the interior, but still have to look for the gear indicator. I don´t want to spend 80 $ on LMC, as I only need that little plastic tube towards the steering column...
Keep up your great work and maybe we can share some nice ideas on how to let the little flaresides shine...

Best wishes on your search, will keep my eyes out for one. A great site if you haven't seen it yet is www.car-part.com , which searches the salvage yards. You can search for instance for any 80-86 F150s with an auto transmission, in yards near your location and at least then you'd have a starting point.

Getting into the fun stuff now.
This weekend, we removed the "wrong" ('95 styleside) bed from the truck, and are working on the wood on the Flareside bed. The tailgate as you can see is almost prepped. We had to grind down some rough spots on the sides of the 'gate so that it wouldn't rub the paint off the bed.
It's tempting to just slap the new bed on the truck but ... being patient. Getting to all the things that can be done with the bed off "while we're in there" - tank vents, looking wiring over etc.
