My son is in Florida this week with a group of his friends, so the house seems really empty right now.
The paint job went smoother than expected, although I did get into a little bit of trouble with the wifey. While spraying the epoxy primer I found that I needed about 40 ounces of paint to get two coats on the bottom of the cab. I didn't want to mix two batches of urethane like I had to with the epoxy. The only thing I could find that had fluid measurements on it (the mixing ratio of the 2K urethane is 4:1) that would hold 40 oz. was a 1/2 gallon pitcher.....that may have come from our kitchen.....and I may have forgotten to hide the evidence.

I like the use of what appears to be metal roofing on the ceiling of your shop. Looks to enhance the lighting well.
Thanks for the complement! The white metal makes it nice and bright.

It was kinda fun! It's like mowing or plowing snow, you get instant gratification.

Thanks so much for all the help you have given me. The paint gun and Dekups setup you suggested using is simply awesome!

BTW- Dollar Tree has half gallon pitchers for a dollar!

Did you make & install the backing plate because you're adding something bigger or heavier?

It's definitely easier to ask for forgiveness and start any discussion with "I'll get you a new one".

I just didn't want to mount the clutch master cylinder to the firewall without beefing it up a bit.

Maybe even the Mack cab too

I'll supply the 1/2 gallon pitcher......

The paint wasn't too bad, the prep. work took for freakin' ever.

While I was getting the bottom of the bed ready for paint I ran into this on the front channel.

I was wire wheeling the channel and I started opening up some holes.

An hour and a half later......

I've always heard the prep work is 95% of the paint job, and I can sure believe it. Looking good Buddy.

Nice work patching up the Swiss Cheese. Things just take as long as they take to get them right. Looking good, keep up the good work.

Might have been a bummer Gavin but I'm just glad you found it now. The rust had advanced enough to rear it's ugly head easily. If you haven't already, you might smack around the channels with a body hammer to make sure there isn't anymore rust not quite ready to show up yet.
