Guys, My dad has a 2012 f250 with the 6.2l v8 - automatic - and its the version that runs off gas and compressed natural gas.

Hes noticed that sometimes that trucks idle would just kick up and idle high and after a little while, it would come down.

Today it finally caught him in a bad spot while he was backing up. The trucks idle just kicks up super high and even with both feet on the brakes, it wouldnt stop until it hit the cement wall. Luckily there was a witness that was watching when it happened and noted that the brakes were applied and the trucks idle just went crazy high and took off.

My sister about 4 years ago, had a 2004-06? ford 500 and that sob would lurch forward with high RPM right out of blue like this truck did. She almost rearended 3 people due to it doing that and ford never could find the problem.

Has ford ever come out to admit that they have a problem?

Anyone else have experience with this right out of the blue, throttling up/high rpm/lurching?

This is a company work truck but I certainly will get a hold of FordService if they (The comapany) can not figure this out. Theres a lot of this online that I just looked up in a search engine, especially with the 6.4l diesels.

 

Where did he find a 2012 F250 with a 5.4? Is this perhaps a 2010?

 

okay i updated it. It appears it has the 6.2 l V8 Gas/CNG motor.
