Question on replacing calipers & pads
I've read that the caliper pins can sometimes get stuck. Will I get new pins with a new caliper or are those separate?
Second question is what type of grease do I need to lube them (and prevent them from seizing)? If silicone grease is what I need, is "dielectric grease" the same as standard silicone grease?
Truck is a 2002 F250 super duty 4WD extended cab.

You can get new pins & brackets with your calipers for only a few dollars extra. You'll want to use this: Specialty Lubricants - Brakes : Permatex® CeramicExtreme Brake PartsLubricant

1. You can get a complete caliper set with pins and bracket, or not.
2. Permatex high temperature ceramic brake grease. Not cheap, but the best.
3. Do NOT use any kind of standard grease (silicone or not), and do NOT use dielectric grease... these are different greases and will not hold up to the extremely high temperatures your brake system can generate.

I started a thread last week about calipers. From what I gathered, NAPA remans with metal pistons are a good choice, but make sure you ask for the metal pistons. If you don't, you may end up with phenolic pistons.

For rotors & pads, this is what I did, and I'm liking them so far:

I'm sure you can find better threads on these topics, but because I started them, I could find them quickly. Hope this helps.

So there are two size rotors/calipers availalbe for our trucks.
1) Front; 4WD; From 3/22/99, w/13" Dia. Rotor, w/4.30 or Numerically Lower Axle Ratio Only;
2) Front; 4WD; From 3/22/99, w/14.5" Dia. Rotor, w/4.88 or 5.38 Axle Ratio Only;
Without taking the wheel and rotor off to measure, how could I find out what ratio front axle I have?
