Nothing but high in high position is the resistor.
Being in high through all stops in the switch is the actual switch

It was in high in all positions last week but as of this morning it is now in low through all positions.

Bad switch
if the resistor were bad,the fan would be off in lower speeds. High on the fan switch is controlled seperatly.

Price is abut the same. switch is easire to change.

Could be... I know it's not elk season. When I lived in Montana and was having work done on the house, the contractor actually put in the contract he would be stopping work for a week during elk season. LOL
