"I Might Need This Someday"....

A disease most of us share... You end up with "random stuff" you don't have a use for but it's just too cool to get rid of. My Dad was a post-war Hot Rodder. His random stuff joined my random stuff when he passed in the "90s.

Because I live in SoCal, I prefer a Manual Choke. Just a few seconds to get it lit, and push it in. So when installing my choke, I remembered an old T-Handle cable coiled on a wall in my Dad's shop when I was a little guy. I found it in our "Random Stuff" box and put it in my truck. It's kinda cool to me and has Dad's DNA on it. My guess is it was an Overdrive" cable although most of them used to say "Overdrive" on them...

What is in your "I might need this someday" box?

Dawg,
I like it. I think its great that it has some fond memories also.

My "random stuff" boes) are everywhere. I have stuff crammed all over the place.
The sure fire way to decide what you absolutely have to have is to throw something away. Sure enough, about a week afterwards you will find the perfect use for the item in question......LOL

Under the seat of my truck I have an old wooden box that has a couple fittings and a hose. Its a remove a spark plug and install and you have a air hose kit. It was my Dads and it hung in his garage And YES I'M GUILTY 10 times over for sure!
similar to this only way older

I like it, it not only looks good but the fact that it was your Dads, makes it extra, extra, special.

Yeah, my "box" is a barn...
Thinking about clearing some things out, because I know I won't be using them and maybe someone else can put them to good use. I prefer that t seeing things simply deteriorate.

I have a lot of bezels ect. for my 56 that ere acquired this way. I inherited them from a friend of mine who would take parts off of trucks in the 70-80's and put them away. He was the consummate 56 lover. He didn't have a radio bezel and dial which I am searching for. O well lots of good memories in those boxes.

You're funny e-dawgie - This is exactly why I had to build a new 28x36 garage this past year - I expect my contractor to show up any day now, by request, so that we can send his next kid to collage

I've been reduced to a big drawer in my shop. Cleaned up last fall and should have kept most of the stuff. Guess I have room for more stuff now.

In my small 2 car garage I have my tools and sandblasters i built 20 years ago. one is a 6' cabinet style and 2 pressure tank styles. 2 large compressors to operate them also build by me. I wanted to get rid of them for years but since i have the truck projects now I am using them once again. This leaves me with the question, Did i start the trucks just to avoid throwing them out?

I hardly know where to start - I have a couple of barns and storage trailers full of stuff I might need someday. Time for an auction! Funny thing is, some of my friends have a lot more stuff than I do!
