Custom 250 I6 Intake

Hey everyone, I have a 250 I6 that I am building to put in a 93' Ford Ranger. I am building the engine for torque, not really a street burner but just low rpm torque. I have a 32/36 Weber carb that I plan to run on it. Of course this engine came with a 1V carb so I had to install an adapter. So to simplify the throttle, I turned the carb 90* opposite of what is normally seen.

Here is what I built

So for a low rpm torque engine, is this gonna cause a problem or will it be okay? I don't think the header will be a problem like a couple of people and myself thought by looking at the finished header, I think I'll be okay. I saved the piece I cut out of the manifold just in case this didn't work out but sure hope this will work.

I had tried something similar in my younger years, I had a 1984 Ford Van with the straight six in it and was trying to find a way to put a 650 Holly on it. One day while out checking out yard sales I find a guy who tells me he has a Clifford aluminum intake manifold for my engine. His son had ordered it from California but never used it and was hanging out in his barn. We went to have a look and there she was, just as he described it. He sold it to me for $150.00, I then picked up a header that split three cylinders into each exhaust. I made arrangements with a muffler shop to install duel exhausts on it as soon as I had her together and started at about 7:00 am and by noon I was making all kinds of crazy noise getting over there but true to his word he had me back out of the door in two hours. The exhaust came out on each side and it always had the strangest sound but a lot of fun. I ran her up at Cayuga on Ford day in 1986 I think, I'm sure it was the only full sized Van to do this. You've invested a lot of time and work into it, I hope you get the same results!

Thats an awsome adapter, Have you thought about using the Weber DG38 carb instead? These are common upgrades for jeep Inline 6 motors and from my experience with them the 38 is far better than the 32/36. The 32/36 is adquate for a 4 banger. Happy building
