Need help 1988 ford f150 300 6 cyl

Hello,

I am new to the forum and posted a thread then somehow I deleted it. Anyway I just bought the 4x4 for 700$. Ran good, for a couple weeks everything worked gauges a little of something I can fix later. Came home the other night low on fuel sputtering. Installed new cap and rotor and truck wouldn't start. Checked tdc and firing order and had spark but no fuel. Suspected fuel pumps or tank switching valve. Long story short rail pump works. Currently have a gas can hooked to rail pump and it starts and runs. Both front and rear tanks r disconnected and switch valve is out. One gentleman replied and said to try the tank select switch. I ordered one. In the mean time I pulled that switch and jumpers the front tank to the inertia switch power on the connector and had gas pumping out. Jumper end the rear tank and could hear the pump run. Tried to jumper back to double check and have power going to it but it's not pumping either tank. My battery is week needs charged. Sure could use some feedback on where to go next 5 person family need to get it back on the road
