It doesn't get that cold in Atlanta.

It did start as a farm truck. Hopefully gave you a laugh.

December 1992: "She who must be obeyed" and I vacationed in Jaw-Jah for 2 weeks.

Some of the places we visited: Atlanta-Cleveland-Helen-Athens-Augusta-Americus-Andersonville.

While driving south from Atlanta, I thought about singing "When We Went Marching Thru Georgia" but couldn't remember all the words.

You couldn't have made it in the spring, or fall? It's much nicer views then. I'm halfway between Atlanta, and Cleveland, and love driving in the N. Ga. mountains. Plan on doing it in my slick some day. As you said She who must be obeyed, otherwise known as the Queen is ready to go for a drive. Hope she can wait.

You know what's located in Cleveland, doncha? The Cabbage Patch Kids doll hospital. We stopped there, cuz "She" wanted to visit it.

We've been to Georgia several other times. One time, "She" had to attend a confab at that lah-di-dah resort on Sea Island (it doesn't take credit cards!), then when it ended we drove to St. Augustine.

The Flagler Museum in St. Augustine has a huge band organ, when the docent lady said 'would you like to hear it?' I said yes.

It played: When We Went Marching Thru Georgia. I told the lady this is not a tune that southerners care for. She asked why.

I told her that We refers to General William Tecumseh Sherman and his troops.

I know all about that, originally from upstate N.Y. I was tagged in high school with the nick name of Yank. Still today I will hear someone that only knew me then will yell it out, then ask me what my name is. It's sad, but I love the South. That's where the handle comes from, the Queen thinks it's cute. If you ever make it back, give me a holler.

We've also been to upstate NY (but not to Cooperstown, why I can't recall). But we did stop at the Jello Museum in LeRoy, because "She" wanted to visit it.

Both of us are museum junkies...and have visited 1000's in the US/Europe.

The odd thing is, we've been in 44 of the 50 states, to London, Paris and Berlin, but have never been to NYC

Been there for business. You are not missing a thing. Way to many people for my taste and that town is awake and going 24/7.

Finished the frame, and suspension

Just trying to clean up the truck, and protect it from the weather, not looking to make it a show stopper.

Have already replaced the brakes, wheel cylinders, hardware, M/C, drums, and bearings so at least it is ready to hit the road when the truck is painted.

Use some steel wool to remove the paint, it may be necessary at some point to be able to read it...to get the correct parts.

Originally, the housing was black, the carrier (aka pumpkin) was painted a reddish brown color. The companion flange was au natural.

Thanks for the info Bill, I'll try to change that before I put the bed back on.

With the frame finished, got back to the cab.

finished the cowl, fender, and door

It's amazing how what looks smooth isn't.At least sevens dents just in the roof.

With all the glass, and trim removed, ready to prime, and sand.
