Good Sunday morning woodchucks and imposters. Bit of a breeze and a dusting of fresh snow this morning.
Trip to Maine for the foster dog was uneventful. Two and half hours over, same coming back, just shy of 300 miles by the time we were done. Foster dog has settled in with our other critters and seems to be doing OK. Needs dental work real bad so the rescue will be footing the bill for that. Otherwise he's a pleasant little guy. His owner died and the family dumped him at a shelter in Maine that knows nothing about pugs. The shelter called Helen who is the president of Vermont Pug Rescue and that's how he ended up here temporarily. We'll (actually Helen) get him set medically and then find him a good forever home. This is her thing and she's really committed to taking care of animals in need so it's pretty hard to fault her for dragging me to Maine and back as company. Should have taken the truck but the weather looked a bit iffy and I still don't have snows so we took the Venza. Would have been a lot more fun in the truck. Trip over and back was full of really great scenery. Jim, lots of snow machine out on the trails in the Bretton Woods area - probably saw close to 100.
Did stop in N. Conway - used to be a huge cheap shopping place. Haven't been that way in a long time. It was pretty desolate - lots of empty store fronts. Must be the internet is eating into the cheap shopping business. Did manage to spend a few bucks on two new backpacks at EMS - our old ones are Kelty outsude frame packs that are 50 years old. Still serviceable but so many features on the new ones it was hard to resist - and they were 40% off. Figured we did our part to help the local economy.
Bought gas in Littleton on the way home - $2.07/gallon. Just across the border it was 2.33. Vermont taxes everything more than NH.
Annual meeting at church today. Then have to go get some exercise - sat in the car most of the day yesterday. Have a good one.

Awfully quiet here this morning. Woodchucks must be holed up because they heard New York mayor say today will be the worst storm in recorded history. And here we are in VT waiting for a bit of snow to freshen things up.
Have a great day guys. Only 10 below this morning. If we get any snow at these temps it is going to be very light fluffy stuff. I'm off to get in a workout at the club, then the honey do list. So far this is looking like a light week - only two conference calls.

Not really. For the number of miles we run, it was an excellent year for our division with zero injuries. Only a couple of little bumps here and there but none were the drivers fault. Actually a 4 day weekend for me. I was off Friday too because they weren't letting us truck due to over inventory in the yard..
