Went on a 220 mile round trip yesterday to look at a 55 cab and some other parts. Might visit another junkyard today. Have to check on parts here in NY before making a trip South.

Passing on the cab for now. Trying to do an inventory of the parts I've got. Plus look at a couple of others.

 

Is it just cabs you are looking at or complete parts trucks?

 

Does any one make re-pop complete cabs yet??

 

I hear Dennis Carpenter was supposed to producing a 56 cab in metal, and BeBops do make a fiberglass 56 cab that is really nice for about $6,000. They have been build steel cabs for the chevy's for a long time now for many different years too. About time someone started doing the Ford truck bodies.

 

I agree John, if more ppl make them, then the $ comes down

 

Have you ever seen the Southern, it's a 50 Chev all steel turnkey pickup. GM gave them the rights to produce it but wouldn't allow them to put a GM motor in it so they put a Ford SB in it. Turnkey was selling for $65,000

It looks cool but I'd rather have 56 Ford with a mouse motor in it than that

 

Some day Gerry you may get your wish, they are making a lot more steel parts now than they ever did, can even buy steel doors for the 53-55 f100's the 56 should eventually come. Pretty sure there would be a market for one.

John, was thinking another cab might be better than what I've got. Plus, sometimes you can find good used parts that fit better and cost less than re-produced ones.
Besides looking is good therapy ....
