Good morning guy's, Terry too if he's lurking around.
Doctor appointment yesterday, they removed the splint and said everything is healing nicely, then into a cast for four weeks.
Highlight of the day is getting Shari's 08 Escape inspected, shouldn't be any issues, it only has 50k on it and I'm pretty good about keeping it's needs met.

I did get Shari's Escape inspected this morning. I wasn't expecting to hear that it failed, it's an 08, and only has 54k on the clock. Everything is fine, but the Check engine light wouldn't come on. (HUH)
I had no idea that it didn't work, or that if that light not working would fail.
I checked with the bunch that installed that remote starter, and got the answer I was expecting, "We didn't do anything that would make that light not work". I don't drive that car unless I "Have too" and Shari would never notice that light out.
I got the cluster out and found out that it has LED lights that are soldered into the circuit board. Cant change those, and Ford quoted me $386 plus it would have to be programmed, for another $121. So we're up to a $500 Engine Light.
So I got out my multi meter and test light. And someplace in my wiggling fuses the Engine Light came on
So needless to say it was a quick ride back to get it re-inspected while things were working. Glad to see it pass and Shari can renew the tags on line... __________________

Rich. When you first start the car the check engine light should come on for three seconds and then go out. That is the most insane thing I've ever heard of to check. What difference does it make if it works or not? If there's no codes, let it roll. Why does the light need to come on? There's some EPA, tree huggin' PITA behind that one.

I got 3/4 of the pick up done. The last little bit should be easy since there's only a couple small spots that need to be sanded. Then just run the wheel over the rest to make it shiny. It's turning out pretty well considering what I started with. Not perfect by any means, but not bad for black.

North Carolina has Emission testing. And for that, they just plug a Scan Tool into the OBDII connector and scan for codes. And if they get a code/fault for anything emission related, you fail.
The Escape didn't have any codes, but the light didn't work. I d@amned near fainted when he told me that light failed inspection.
Today was the absolute first time, I've ever been happy about seeing my own check engine light come on.
Missouri can fail you on a state inspection if the high beam indicator wont come on when the high beams are on.
True Story... I did that to a guy that was being a total azz while I did his state inspection. He'd put a lot of work into his old Chebby truck, and it showed, it was sweet. But he started off wrong with me when blocked MY bay door, and wouldn't move his truck when I asked him too.
And I admit it, I was going to find something wrong with that truck.
(Hint) DON'T BLOCK MY BAY DOOR

I went to the store tonight to get some soup & animal crackers. I find the animal crackers but I can't find the soup. A manager walks up and says can I help you find something?

I say yes I'm looking for duck soup. He says we don't have duck soup. Horse feathers I say! How can I enjoy a night at the opera with out duck soup & animal crackers. He tells me sir, I don't have time for this monkey business! Monkey business I say! Do I look like I'm dressed for a day at the races!?

It's a good thing I didn't ask about room service.

I just shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got in my pajamas I'll never know.

Outside of a dog, a book is mans best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.

Well, I'm back on breathing treatments and steroids again. Joy.

Evening All!

I suspect I'll have about 14 hours of sanding and buffing on this dang Chevy. I have to go around it one more time to clean it up. The paint was a mess. I had a ton of dirt in the stuff I sprayed, and a ton of scratches in the stuff I didn't spray. Unreal. It's leaving tomorrow and then I'm gonna get the red truck in so I can pull the engine and get it ready to drop in EQ.

The color it purple because potatoes have bones

Do not ask cause I don't know where that come from, I just have it memorized for some reason??
