He means lower down the axle one side at a time to get the fluid moving.

Got it! Possible this wasn't done after the seals were replaced. I certainly didn't do it myself.

Well three times around a roundabout then three times back around it the wrong way at a higher than recommended speed (we have hundreds of those around these parts and I have probably 10 in my own neighborhood so I can get away with the wrong way thing) will do the same thing. Point is to get the fluid moving.

This could be a fun exercise - I'll find a big parking lot and run fast 8s once my bearings are done.

dont be crazy, all you have to do is take a couple turns and the oil gets everywhere. unless you drive like your driving mrs daisy all the time and only go in a straigh line for 100,000 miles it would be a problem.

If that is the case, I should have been fine.

We used to have a steep ditch behind our shop. We would just pull in one way and wait for maybe 30secs then turn around and dip the other side for the about the same amount of time. Always worked good for us. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I agree, I used to grease them and that was it. I can't imagine not making any turns before they burn up. Look how long the front ones go on grease.

Thanks! Yep here in CT roads are quite twisty and up and down hills, so based on everyone's comments there should have been more than enough adjutantion to slush and lube the bearings.

My Ex has been at the dealer since Wednesday - they haven't gotten to it yet. Now I will have to wait until after the Holidays as I will be away next week. Hope to come back and find the Axle noise fixed.
