Drove a 40 mile route that I drive often. 65 mph.....17 mpg
The 2011 would do 18 - 18.5 mpg

That's respectable mileage to me Roy. Mine barely does 17.5 to 18.5 and never higher, driving 65 - 70 with moderate to no traffic and my part of Texas is pretty flat. I have a higher rear end and two fewer tires on the back. Probably the extra load on the alternator from powering my heated steering wheel drops 1 mpg though.

I have a solar heated steering wheel..........

Mine is during the summer months...
Got those solar powered heated grips on my bike for summer use too. They're so effective, you can blister your hand if not using caution when going for a summer cruise on the two wheeler.

My DRW will do about 17-17.5 mpgs on a unloaded hwy run.
I'd say you are right there.
Still a pig with a 5er but I don't care.
