That we do. I still have a belt driven fan but it has an electronic clutch. Luckily I am to the point where I can count down the payments I have left. After that I can sit and relax with it. Then worry about a new one after a few years and putting some money into the bank.

A lightbar would be pretty cool.

Thats what I am thinking Tim. I need to take a few measurements on the light bar so I can figure how big of a lightbar I want to put there.

The stock ones that I have bought from auto-zone have always been funky heavy duty ones that don't seem to work the way they should, mine before it went out would be locked solid when cold and sorta half lock when warm but would always keep the engine so cold the top radiator hose would be warm and the bottom would be almost outside temp cold. And they never did well at slipping when they should so since I have no real bills to pay off E-fans it is for the old girl.

Maybe now I'll stand a chance against my buddy's 84 F-250 with a 347 in it , doubtful but I'll try it and see how close we are.

Thats cool. Only time I had a cooling system issue was with my first truck. Took me awhile to find a leak it had. HAd a bad side tank on the radiator. Replaced that along with the t-stat, water pump, and all of the hoses since I had it all apart. Ran great all summer long. Winter came along and I would warm that truck up and by the time I was about a mile from my house it would be ice cold with no heat at all because it was cooling too well. Had to block off the radiator with cardboard to allow it to stay warm.

That was my plan as well but being that the fan went out before I remember to borrow some cardboard from work I ended up going back to this idea. I plan on getting a better fan than what I have now for the summer so I can use my A/c with it safely if I decide to finish fixing it on my truck come next summer, but for now and until spring what I have will work perfectly. Also I think a lightbar would be neat on your truck.

I am sure that is a bear of a job to do, getting just the right one that looks good but still actually does its job right, love to see it when you figure it out though.

The big ones they make would be roof mounted. Just cant justify the price on those.

I'd probably look at the price and give it a big old nope if its over 200 bucks. I'd be willing to rig up some lights on my truck one day but only if they don't cost me an arm and a leg.

I have LED lighting already on the truck. The lightbar would be LED as well. The one is a 50" LED lightbar. That runs 1600 bucks. They make a 54" one as well. That is a curved LED lightbar. That runs about 2200 bucks. My current lights run about 200 a pair.

Holy crap! For that money I could have a full blown rebuild done to my truck with a couple of power adders to boot.

Yeah they are not cheap but the company that makes them has really good customer service and the lights have done really well for me. the current set has withstood the accident the truck was in a year ago and still work great. Only ever had one issue with them and that was a bad seal on one light that caused it to fail. They replaced both lights with no issue at all.

Sounds like that company is well worth working with and they are worth the investment of that kind of money in the long haul.
