Driver side DEAD and running awful.

My friend bought 99 late F250 with nearly 300K.

It was great 1 day it wouldn't start. they threw autolite plugs no work.

I came to look and it turn to be bad IPR valve wouldn't move.

Put new IPR valve it running GREAT.

Couple days later someone saw unhook ground cable from driver head. They thought it for glow plug relay to say it SPARK so they leave alone.

Now truck not running right. Check injectors on both sides.

Driver ZERO OHM nothing.
Passenger side had ohm vary 2.8-3.2

Thought bad valve cover gasket harness. Try new one SAME THING.

Do you think it ruin glow plugs and injectors ?

Cylinder contribution tester show 1 2 3 4 7 cylinders circuit contribution balance fault.

How does the harness plug look ? Did you replace the harness under the gasket ? IDM may be bad from water intrusion . I see them full of water down here ....

Sounds like the IDM shut down the driver's side bank of injectors. Not sure of how to fix it yet, just offering an opinion.

I thought it was completely normal for the IDM to shut down a bank of injectors to "protect" the engine if there was a problem.

This has to be connected to the spark jumping from the ground wire somehow. I don't think it's coincidental.

Time to pull the valve cover and harness to the injectors . Then test each injector on it's own . If they do not ohm out at the injector , pull them and have them checked at a diesel shop . Strange to see that many go down all at once ....

I understand the complaint as a connection issue without the engine running ... No OHM at injectors .

These IDM 's are not that smart . They have melt downs often . Not a Duramax ....

You need to get those autolite glow plugs out of there ASAP! I know this has nothing to do with your no start issue but the problem with those autolites is they get real hot and will weld themselves to the head and then your screwed. They also brake at the tip and will fall onto the top of the piston and bang into the top inside of the head and then you will have a ping sound in the cylinder for the rest of that engines life. You need to go with the OEM glow plugs from Ford or International.
