My '77 also is, was "glued" on years and years ago .... but age and heat and etc killed the glue. A couple years ago I decided to repair it as lid was loose and pump shot. Cleaned it all up, new pump inserted, and instead of gluing .... I cleaned the groove in top that originally was filled with glue, and fdound it would snap over lip ofbottom. I used six small zip ties, drilled mating holes in each end and along sides just big enough to allow me to use the zip ties to fasten together. Then I snapped it together and zip tied it. Works great!
The cap just snaps shut.

Thanks for the input.
I did find that LMC Truck has the reservoir listed, but it is complete with lid. Not as separate parts. Since my reservoir tank is OK, and I just installed a new pump and cleaned the dirt out of the reservoir tank, I was thinking of filling the groove in the lid with silicone (RTV), pressing it down on the reservoir, and holding it in place until it sets.
