New 7.3 owner

Hello fellow FTE PSD owners.

Just wanted to swing in say, "Hello." Just got my "brand new" 1997 7.3 CCLB PSD, and wanted to introduce myself since I'm going to start living in this section of the forums now. Mostly just here to learn right now since my other truck is the main project, but I already have big plans for this truck aswell.

The truck: 1997 7.3 PSD auto transmission 4.10 gears CCLB dually 127,000 miles!!

If we're spending other people's money I can get on board with that!

For now im just looking to learn and maybe just some of the basic/least expensive upgrades.

Future wise I'm undecided.

So for this 6637 air mod do you guys recommend the riffraff diesel kit $99.00 before S&H or just get the $60 filter from napa and then getting a 4" steel pipe?

^^^^ Neither one's "better". Just a matter of what you feel like doing. And the filter can be had for less than $60.

In the end if you have to pay for the pipe and filter in the long run it will be a toss up.and you get that slick filter cover from riffraff.

NICE truck Zack!! Welcome to this section of the forum! As far as the 6637 filter goes, I would get the kit from Clay. He sells the Baldwin filters that have the screen on the inside just like on the outside. The Napa ones don't. If the filter were to get wet for some reason, the element could collapse and get sucked into the turbo causing a lot of damage to the turbo and possibly the engine. There is a very slim chance of this happening, but I have seen it happen. I think better to be on the safe side and go ahead and get one with the screen inside, and the Baldwin is the only one I know of that has it.
