Y-block external oil lines to valve covers
I know about the oil delivery problems to rocker arms when the oil passages are blocked with sludge. Back in 1964 I worked in a service station and y-blocks were common then.(I know that I am dating myself) I would see copper lines routed to the valve covers for oiling. Never was interested enough to check where they got their oil supply. Did this work ok enough to get you by until a rebuild if you have rocker oiling problems? This is just for information.

You are old Elmo.....
We would do the same thing a couple of years/decades ago.
Seems the oil passage from the cam bearings would also sludge up. We'd remove the rockers and shaft (here's where the memory gets fuzzy) and either have a tool to force grease down the feed hole or had a tool to hit with a hammer to clear the feed hole.

They are band-aids at best. If your engine needs this then it needs a lot more than this. If it hasn't been getting oil to the top, valve train components are shot, dist drive gear has not received any oil or the timing chain.
Like I said its a Band-Aid and I would never use them
