Post Removing Speed Restrictions

Can anyone tell me if i can disable the speed restriction on a 94 ford ranger 2.3 5 speed. It cuts off at about 90 or 95. Is there any way to remove this with a chip or anything like that. Just anyway to disable it???

Thankz
Mike

Removing Speed Restrictions

are you sure it isn't the 2.3 that is limiting the truck?

Even with a Ranger being smaller, it still isn't the most areodynamic vehicle out there. I can't imagine a 2.3 would push one much further.

Removing Speed Restrictions

i don't know about the speed restriction in the ranger, however i have a 95' with the 2.3L and auto tranny (2 wheel drive) had it up to 110 mph once. speedometer reads up to 120, don't know if it will reach that or not. 95 was the first year for OBD II in the rangers. that may have something to do with it. or may not.
