Hate to ask a dumb question but what is truck stock. I hear it a lot on this site but know nothing about it. Sounds like the right time of year for it.

There are people on here that can give you a better answer than I can but they are all at Truckstock 2015 having a good time. It is an event conceived by Doc and his great family to get a bunch of old truck loving people together to talk about old trucks and good things in their lives. Each year other good people have stepped up to continue the good times. No alcohol is involved, no competitive my car is better than yours no bragging just wonderful people that want to enjoy each other. On top of that they want to and are willing to and actually do help each other. It is probably one of the best events I have ever had the privilege to attend. I hope to be able to do it again soon. Hope that helps. Have fun

Arrived home safely about three o'clock pm. Missy Green ran like a good truck should.
What a great event. Joe and Patti, thanks so much for the hard work and planning to pull such an event off smoothly. So good to see some old faces and meet some new members FTF.
Yep, looks like the event will happen same place same general time of the year next year. Cabin reserved.
Many thanks again, Joe.

pictures

A few pictures at random of the park and our group . The park is huge , and all cabins and campsites where filled , yet it was very privet . WE had a set of ten cabins , set apart and didn't have to deal with other guests . When I say cabins I mean small two bed room houses , With all the bells and whistles . The main lodge , where a few stayed was about 1/4 mile away through the woods , a short walk or you could drive a little more to get there . The food was good and priced well . There was a loop of about 5 miles that had over looks of the falls and surrounding mountains and woods . We used Joe and Patties cabin as the meeting spot and had deer walking within 10 feet of us all weekend , We had 9 States represented from North and South borders to east and west coast . We had Father and Mothers, Sons, and daughters , grand children, And of course lots of wife's . We have decided to do it again next year . I will be in charge [ Hope I can do as good a Job as everyone else has] . The plan is for the third weekend in September 2016

We just pulled into the hotel in Winston-Salem, NC.

Truckstock 15 was a great event! I'm glad we were able to make the trip, and we made our reservation for the same cabin next year.

A huge thanks to Joe and Patti for making all the arrangements and for the great communications prior to the event.

Made it home a little while ago. About 260 miles. Took us seven hours including fuel stops, a long sit-down lunch, etc. Both flatheads ran beautifully. An interesting tidbit--my truck got about 11-12 mpg. Dad's shoebox got about 13-14 mpg. Thanks so much to Ross for the help and encouragement with both vehicles. Thanks also to Ross and Ray for the engine swap back in 2013!! That allowed me to enjoy the last 2 Truckstocks in my truck. It was really great seeing all of you again!! And meeting new people!! Thanks also so very much to Patti and Joe for making everything run so smoothly. You did great!! Hey Bob!! We made a last minute decision to leave this am when the rest of them started packing up. I tried to find you to say goodbye. Be safe on your journey home. Safe travel wishes to the rest of you. Let's not forget that Ross is making a routine trip halfway across the country in a flathead.

Well, Patti and I are still here at the park. with almost everyone leaving this morning, except us, Doraville and Firstrider Patti's daughter and grandson drove down for dinner and to spend the night with us. Daughter has a hot spot which enabled me to finally get online at the cabin.

Once again I would like to thank EVERYONE for attending, you all made it a special weekend for us.

We just pulled in. Its a pretty hard 12 hours for us. Thanks to Joe and Patty for putting this together. If you find it Pat said she left her ALASKA cap hanging on your propane tank. If you find it if you would hang on to it till next year LOL we will be back. I didn't reserve a cabin because I thought might get a better rate if we all did it like last year under the truckstock group. Joe what do you think?

It was great to see everyone from past events and to meet new people.

Larry and Pat

I made it home at about 2:00 pm. I only had to make one minor repair. I'll post pictures of it tomorrow. Thanks Joe and Patti for throwing a great Truckstock! The setting was perfect, the cabins were much nicer than what I expected, and the camaraderie was exceptional. Thank you Eric and Eva (Earnhardt), for letting me keep up with you down that "long lonesome highway" (think Bob Seger). Also, thanks to Cousin Ken for putting a roof over my head. Without divine intervention (and all of my ducks lining up) I would have missed the wonderful people who make this such a great event.
