I would say the Banks is the most expensive with the same flow as the S & B.

I like my AFE 2. Expensive but a good kit and heavy breather.

Go with 6637 filter cleans down to the smallest particles. K n is a BAD choice for our turbo trucks. The 6637 flows 424 cfm that is plenty of air for almost all 7.3 applications. If your wanting more air go with a 2790 filter it flows 680 cfms of air. It's loud but so are 5 inch open pipes. I have run one for years filters great flows tons of air and spools quick. Lots of clean air is the goal and the cheaper the better.

Has anyone had better performance with one over the other, or opinions/ experience on performance. I'm not a big fan of the cleanable type...seemed to attract more dirt on the Bikes I've used them on.

Something that I have found pretty interesting about S&B is that the current intake system that they are selling for the 7.3 is the 2nd version that they have made, which claims to outflow the older design. They also have a program for those with the older intake to upgrade for a cheaper price to the new design. Just my 0.02 here but this to me has shown that they don't think of our platform as a "dead platform" like Banks does, and progressively find ways to better it, I have the older version and have no complaints about it.

How do you mount or secure the 6637 That was a little vague in the instructions Riffraff Diesel had online?
Picks would be nice.

I have used several over the years. K&N is not bad as long as you buy the complete system and not simply drop the filter in the stock box. I used AFE for some time and while I never had any issues, the constant noise (as the filter is open, anything within a an inch or so of the hood seam gets pulled into the filter) and the fact that the outside mesh cover was filled with all kinds of bug parts and junk. I finally went with the AIS system and aside from resetting my air filter restrictor gauge (that little yellow rubber washer bugs me if its not cleared with the press of the button) I am happy with the performance and reduction in noise. While the S&B claims "more air" than some, they also use a fender inlet that draws more air and most of the ones I have seen installed do not take the time to hook up this inlet so basically its just a K&N with an enclosed top IMHO. You can also set up the AIS in a similar fashion but I just run the snorkel and leave the side inlet closed off.

Use the stock box and cut a little away. It will sit in the area where the original was behind the battery. It is a tight fit, so it won't go anywhere.

I have the AFE stage 2 and it works great, but yes it does get bugs, leaves, ETC in the element - it filters. I did however have a friend of mine fabricate a corse mesh cover for mine to keep the "big chunks" out. Work fine and no restriction.

Anyone use the new S&B yet 75-5062 $299 from S&B

Compared to the Previous model available at Riffraff 75-5028 $269

Newer one looks to have better battery and sensor fitment!
