I was changing the air filter on my explorer there was oil residue on the air filter. I also found quite a bit of oil in the intake ducting. What could be causing this?! I Need some direction please!!!

Which engine ?
maybe ecoboost turbo blow by ?

if so, clean it out, make sure all turbo piping is clamped well,
and run it for a while, then check later...

Did you ever find where the oil was coming from/prevent it from happening again?
