Hey guys, now that I have good brakes on my N-600 , I need to know how you shift this rear axle. Every time I attempt to split it, it makes a grinding sound. Is the system meant to be shifted on the move or only when stopped? Thanks, Greg.

 

My 2 sp rear has never grinded once. Shifted on the highway or otherwise.

Note some posters disagree with my comments, and say the are able to shift the two speed any old way. Might work, might not. The post I made shows how Eaton wants you to do it.

Whatever you do, don't try to downshift it going down hill.
