buying truck with no title advise ??
#17
I am great a taking advice, but when people from out of state don't know what they are talking about then what is there to hear ?
I all ready know it wont be a problem getting it registered with out the title.
but there is a title for the truck but if i present it to DMV they will keep it and not issue a new one because of the age. if you dont live in CT then you wont know. i can register with just a BILL OF SALE if its older than 30 years.

Let's review your original post below... it's not like there is a whole lot of information and we're not clairvoyant.
... nothing about the 30-year rule and "wondering" lead us to understand that CT laws weren't even looked at. In the end, it doesn't seem to matter.
This isn't a crit. I'm just pointing out that we on the other side of the screen respond in a vacuum unless ya give us good background info... like the 30-year rule and the bill of sale policy/law.

Yeah you should review it, because all i asked was how do i know if its stolen, i never asked about what the laws are, i already know. i even said i was not to worried about it just wondering.

"how it will be registered with a vin for the cab and a vin for the frame".
Moving on....
That's a cool deal for $400. I'm surprised it hasn't been eaten up by rust being in the northeast and all.
Is that the blade and hydraulics in the bed? 'Could prolly make a few bucks plowing peoples' driveways, yeah?

This threads still going? This guys throwing mixed questions left and right and going back on them. If your just going to argue at what we say then why even ask? Your best bet is to visit your state chapter of the site and ask them since we don't know jack and you know all your states laws anyways right? On to the next thing the truck looks nice and definitely is a good deal for 400 also it isn't no 74 cab completely different body style. Good luck on your title situation.

they would be able to tell you by the vin you give them if it was stolen or what you need to do to put it on the road in your name
