97 to 99 5.4 swap lariat 4x4 questions

I am replacing a 97 5.4 w a 99 model. Both trucks are lariat 4x4. Question,I see the coolant lines are different. The remote oil filter/cooler has 2 coolant from bottom radiator hose on the 97. I see the 99 engine does not have coolant connections here and I believe it has different connections on the intake. What should I do to make this swap work ? Exchange remote oil filter connections or go with the newer one and does it have different coolant routing on the to side ? Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated ! Also the 99 engine has the harness still attached along w all sensors and accessories, can I leave it attached and just plug it in and go ? Are there any more differences that I need to make adjustments for ?Thanks in advance

Wow, I think the simple answer is to use everything off the 97 motor if possible. That way it's more plug and play. As for the sensors and wiring harness, I would use the one off the 97 for compatibility with the 97 computer.

not a problem, i try to be as helpful as i can.
sorry i mis read the problem, but it led me to my answer.
i agree with above use the 97 setup. which also plays back to the link i posted. if i remmember correctly from all of my research your 97 5.4 is like my 98 4.6l, if nothing else the 97 had coil packs and the 99 had cop? ive read so many threads that i cant remember but i swapped a 99 5.4 into the 98 very easily. yours should be even easier.

I was curious about the original routing of the coolant lines on the 99. The 97 had 2 lines off of the bottom radiator hose that went to the oil cooler, the 99 oil cooler does not and something looked different about the coolant hoses on the top passenger side of the 99. I'm just gonna put everything that'll fit from the 97 on as I go and it'll all work out in the end ! Thanks
