Question: Exhaust Modification?

If I do an exhaust modification on my 2009 F-350 5.4l 3v, will it increase
my hp and overall performance?

Maybe....

An engine is just a large air pump....

more air out, means more air in... and thus more fuel can be added to increase power...

besides, it will sound a lot better afterwards

No. At least not by any amount that can be measured in any way.

No . Hi flow exhausts and filters do nothing. Remember the computer controls what the engine does how much air to bring in and it monitors what goes out and readjusts thousands a times a second.

The 2005 and newer gasoline engines have fairly good intake and exhaust systems from the factory. You can make the intake and exhaust louder, but there is not a lot of power or efficiency to gain by upgrading.
