351W crate motor - No start
Vehicle - '92 E350 - 351W - E4OD tranny. 126K on the clock.
Had a lot of problems over the past 3 months with original engine.
Oped out to do a crate engine, and Yes, a roller cam engine, '94+
Swap went with out a hitch, took my time, and made sure everything was cleaned, gaskets put on with RTV, set in place, and waited 20-30 minutes, and then torqued down.
Problem is, the engine will not run.
Re-checked everything 50 times, new distributor, (cast iron gear) newer IAC, TPS, swapped ICM from '94 E350, along with the ECM, which ran on '92 before swap.
Many calls to the engine re-builder tech, re-set the timing for 5.0 (major intake back fire on that) re-set to the 5.8 (1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8)
From first start-up, has been backfiring thru the intake, pulled plugs and there very wet, tried some other plugs, soon to get wet again.
Re-builder sent out a field tech on Thursday, he checked the timing as I had it set (after I pulled the front end off again, to check the Harmonic balancer, if slipped, and the timing chain, to make sure the gears were correct)
We got it fired up with spraying throttle body cleaner in the TB, as I had no starting fluid on hand, but as soon as you quite spraying the cleaner, it shuts down.
So, it seams that the problem is fuel/ignition synchronization.
I questioned the phone tech if the correct cam and crank were installed on this engine, I was told that it would be "highly unlikely" it was the problem.
Only thing left to re-place is the ECM.
Before I pony up for the new (re-built) ECM, anyone have in-put with this problem?? Any experiences of the same??
Thanks in advance for any in-put
PS - spent more time trying to get this engine running than it took to do the swap.

And add, replaced fuel injectors in May with re-man'ed units (yellow tops)
Old engine ran fine with these.
Today, switched a ECM from a '93 F350 - 351W - w/5 speed, I know, not totally combat-able, and got the most spits, and hits and misses to date.
Still getting intake back-fires, had it running for a few, with pumping the gas pedal. Also, no adding TB cleaner to get this far.

Up Date - forgot about this post......
Got the engine running, after many hours and changing/testing every sensor, replacing fuel pump, filters...ect....
Stumped a Certified mechanic with his *** lights.......
Came down to the MAP, swapped that with a good used one, and it fired right up and ran.
Found that with the help of this forum, and the links.
