Hiya everyone! October already?!?!.....soon it will be cold and snowing.

That's a far drive for me and as bad as I need a shop, that's a heck of a deal though!

RC ,are you into busses? This ole power wagon would be a cool project! I'm guessing it to be a late '50s early '60s model?

If I end up not working, I could possibly make it to SMORR. I'd have to be easy on it though....well....because it is a jeep lol! And also needs to get me back home
It flexes decent

But sticks in the mud pretty easily with a 31" tire

The little heep is rusted out bad and has over 270,000 miles but still chugs right along.

Alan, your energy and quality of work is inspiring!

Evening.

Here's the latest installment on the '48. I got the steering gear box mounted and made the intermediate shaft. It was going great! ......until I tried to turn the wheels. Guess what happened? I turned the steering wheel left, and the tires turned right. ......DANG IT! He gave me a front steer gear box for his rear steer truck!

I rigged it up for now, but I think I can come up with something that'll work. I just need a little more time to tinker with it.

Well I can see how this time home is going to go, between chores, gandkids, step kids moving and (Rich has a truck and trailer) and about 50 other "things/appointments" ect....I hope to get in the garage next week for some truck time.....

Always later on in late Nov or Dec when it colder and worse weather out to get to do things....

That's life.

Rich. Hang in there, brother. We'll get to it eventually.

I got a '56 Chevy pick up coming back for more rust repair on Monday. Another guy is picking up an estimate for some bodywork tomorrow morning. I have two other cars to check out and do a general safety check, then there's the heater core job, the frame welding job, the Honda wreck, the turbo Mitsubishi that doesn't run right, .....and a partridge in a pair tree.

Good Morning Everybody!

RC. That'll actually be fine. I don't expect the guy with the estimate to come back. The rest of the stuff is already there waiting on me, but I think I can knock most of it out in the next few days. I just need to finish up the '48.

alan... i did get a few skinny tires mounted on some stock 8 hole wheels yesterday to put on the frt. of the truck so it will fit between the fenders.. i dont think i will have to change the rear tires. i will get some wood blocks to keep the tires off the edge of the trailer.. i hope i can get it loaded and hauled up there in a few days

A 4wd school bus is "cshool". lol

Well another trip to town today and then off to Diamond and Carthage Mo tomorrow.

At least I am IN Missouri this month, that is a way to look at it. Beats NOT being in Missouri for sure.

There is a Glock 45 on the market that is hard to get. Its a 380 cal.....and I had one in my hand yesterday. Also looked at a L/H bolt action Ruger .30-06 with a nice scope on it....

Afternoon All!

I got a new drag link made for the '48. The paint is drying while I eat lunch.

In bigger news, ......I finally got a working toilet in the shop!!!! WOO HOO!! With all my neighbors moving out, I figured I better get my bathroom working in case I get stuck there. All I have to do now is put a slop sink in there and I'm all set.

RC. One thing at a time. I don't even have a working sink yet. At least I can take care of things when the need arises, instead of trying to go next door or make it home.

Hot off the presses. The latest '48 F-1 pictures. I got the steering linkage where I'm happy with it. I also got the trans tunnel done except for the inspection cover. I'm almost done with it for this round. This one is gonna cost him.

I had to modify the steering arm, but when I did, it would flex trying to center the steering wheel from full lock to the right. I added a brace to the steering arm and it's all good now.

Here's the trans tunnel.

good morning missouri....
looking good alan, i will try to get up there soon and give it a personal inspection.. ha ha ha ..
i have been working on my 41 and still doing the 1 step forward and 2 step back thing.... but have at least eliminated it down to maybe just 2 drive train options, so that is sort of progress at this stage of the build..
