Just wanna say great write up! I bought a 2008 F350 a few months ago but it didnt come with the cab lights. First thing my wife asked was when I was going to add cab lights. Ive added them to my last 2 trucks (99 F150, 01 F250), I used silicone on both because I was worried about leaks but never had any problems. Only comment is as WizKid stated was to replace the factory hardware with stainless as they do rust which make it very hard to have to replace a bulb if one goes out. But again great write up and Ill definitely be sourcing your write up when I do mine (hopefully soon)!

I don't have any template left. Love that I did this project though, even though I don't own the truck anymore.

Excellent write up, my 16 looks identical, great to see the ins and outs with a moon roof. I am excited yet nervous to tackle this project.

Weather and scheduled finally aligned this weekend. Big thanks to Bruce as it made it very easy duplicate. Making the template as well as measuring many times, we accomplished the entire task in about 4 hours. I say about as I did quite a bit of prep work to have everything ready when it was go time.

Sweet!!! I'm so glad that I could be of some help. Your truck looks wonderful. Great color and the lights are spectacular.

my_crib_too -- your instructions and research really helped me out on the cab light install on my 2011. Thanks for all the little tips and tricks on every step! It came out great.

Anyone else attempt this project? Love to see the differences with this project on a 2017 truck.

Would be interesting to see this done to a 2017+ model SD truck.

Looking to do this to my 2008 F250 in a couple of weeks with a Recon lighting kit. Does anyone know where is the best place to tap into the parking light wire and what color the wire is? I've searched all over and can't seem to find which color wire to be looking for.
