2004 Ford Escape Bad Fuel Economy

Hi All, New user on the forum, Just got my self a Ford escape 2004 3.0 V6. It has done over 220,000 mile but its going strong (it had a check engine light when I got it but ran OK). Lately its start to give some trouble and fixed most of them and still few issues that maybe some of you guys can help me with.

A week after I got it, car all of sudden lost power to an extant that it was un-drivable, you would accelerate but no power at all. took it to a local garage and the guy said it was a blocked CAT and he replaced it, worked fine after that. While diagnosing the issue, he told me the vacuum line hose coming from the crank case needed to be replaced as the rubber had cracked out. I went and replaced the line and that's when I noticed that the Electrical connector to the EGPD was removed, plugged it back in and after driving for a few days the engine light went off.

Then a few days later noticed that in the morning (car parked in underground car park) it would be very reluctant to start, have to hold the key to crank for a long time. eventually would start and shudder for a while and then it would settle and work OK. If the engine was hot after journey, it would start up fine. I took it to a independent mechanic, who replace all 6 spark plugs and fuel filter.

Read on the internet about IACV, took it apart and cleaned it (it wasn't that dirty) and car seem to be starting ok (not as long a crank time) still a bit of shudder for about 10 sec after starting before it calms down to a smooth idle.

This is about the same time that I noticed the gas mileage drop, you are talking about 5.5 Km mile for a liter of fuel. Any suggestion or ideals on how I can fix this. I read about O2 sensors would they need replaced. I did a engine scan, and no codes reported or check engine light.
