Big Block gas vs Diesel for pulling ?

The Mack makes the torque of a Pro Stock race car like 1100 pounds so yaa it would be a slug compared to the one that makes 1800 Ft pounds the 600 HP diesel. You would never ever get a Nascar engine to pull a load like a rig no matter what the gearing because it lacks the torque.
The drag car motors would go way faster than 90 because they make way more HP than 600. With the Pro Mod you would have the baddest truck on the road from one Interstate exit to the next one and the engine would be spent but I bet it could pull that load like 200 MPH for a small clip.

The problem is the new diesels I here they suck for pickups, I just talked to a shop 30 miles down the road about redoing my injector pump and the guy told me the fleets are going back to gas on pickups. They cannot deal with the new diesels.
Everybody is telling me the new ones are really not any good and their like don't buy one.

I think thats a little extreme, even modern diesels are pretty good.
Granted more electrical and emission gremlins, but so do gas trucks, maybe not to the same extent though.
I have never heard of any fleets going back to gas, on paper diesel still holds merit, according to accountants.
The thing that sucks, is that for 1 person, replacing a 2000$ part is harder to swallow than paying an extra 30% on fuel every time.

Parkland i work at ups and the have gone back to gas!! The delivery trucks are around 15-25gvw. In the 80s almost all gas. Then in the 90s almost all diesel. Since early 2000s they have been mostly gas but they are still buying some diesel. Fleet right now is about 70% gas.
The gasser trucks get a new motor around 250-400k miles then keep going. Some are on the 3rd motor. The diesels costs so much to replace they used to put a gasser in to replace (without regearing so they drive like a turd!) the newer ones are to complicated to swap motors (automatic trans, computer controls) so they go to the boneyard.
I much much rather drive a gasser up to 25ooo. Faster, quieter, smoother, and they blow hot air in the winter!! I dont pay the fuel bills but the number crunchers figured out they are cheaper.
Over 25,000 i would go for a diesel
