Wouldn't mind driving one for work or some other occasion, but owning one, no.
People used to say that about the 6.0 as well

(some gauges read nothing due to the 6.4 doesn't read all of my 6.0 gauges I have listed.) The 6.4 uses 2 thermostats.

For what it's worth, I will never own a 6.4, even though their thermostats seem to work as designed.
Thanks for the information! As mentioned, the stock system utilizes a dual thermostat. These activate at 192°F/203°F. We are preparing to release both a high and low temperature unit for the 6.4L as well. Our high temperature unit will include activation temperatures of 198°F/208°F.

Thanks!

Hi All,
Thought I would share my findings from using my 2005 6.0 Ex with the 200 thermostat. I have had a Scangauge hooked up and have found that it holds the engine very well at 198-200 even with outside temps below 0 farenheit some days. I was very surprised how long the motor took to get up to 200. I found it climbed quickly to 175-180 and then slowed down but still got to the 200. All this is while driving at 45-50 mph and with a winter blanket on the front grille. Overall I would recommend this thermostat. Time will tell how this works in the heat of summer with the AC on full blast.

I made a quick trip to Little Rock Friday afternoon that required me to put the old girl into the wind. Temps held steady 204/187 and I didn't spare the diesel fuel. Rock solid so far.

I left the house at 2:52 and pulled into Prothro Junction at 5:00. I followed the M-F college kids home and they were in a hurry so I just cruised... Took my time and was back home by 9 pm.

Temps 204-206 with the occasional run to 100. I was following traffic and a sweet looking black new 5.0 Mustang GT.

Protho junction--haven't heard that in years--wish I was still in AR.

My Scangauge II consistently says 198 degrees, occasionally hitting 200, I am wondering if the sensor is off just a hair?

i would think so. My ECT always moves in 2s and my EOT moves in 1s.
Sure that's just the +- on the calibration of the sensor--i could be wrong though.

Both sensors are exactly the same...you can swap 'em if you wish.

How much coolant will I lose when I pull it? Is the ECT sensor next to the EOT sensor?

OK so I went thru this thread somewhat, but didn't have time to read all 700 posts...

Does anyone know what washed out with the t-stat fitting the older housings?

I recently bought an 04, and I'm doing the work up on it now, was going to replace t-stat with this new one but am reluctant to do so now due to it not fitting (in some) of the housings.

Did Mishimoto fix this issue? Any suggestions?

Thx
