F 100 1956 wheels
Hello
I have recently bought a 1956 F 100. It has 3 different wheels.
do anyone have a close up Picture of the original wheels this truck came with as new.
What is the correct size. Mine are 15"x5 one of them, the others are 15x6
What is hot to use, if I am going to buy new. Not kean on any alloy wheels.
Thanks Dk-F100

Hi and welcome
The 56 should have 15x5" rims. The 5,5 came a few years later.
No closeup byt you Can take a look here

Some are more stock than others.
I have planed in using the cpp ps box. Not quite there yet.
DK...? Are you from denmark???

If you can find one a, 1 ton box will work. 1 more turn lock to lock but lower effort.
Im using a Saginaw cross steer on mine with a panhard bar. The cross steering works well. Panhard bar keeps axle centered and keeps frame out of twist.
I looked at a rack [Thunderbird] on a 56 and would consider it. Uses a sliding tube, same as Ford and some race genres. A o ring was placed to check movement and was limited to about 1/2''.
No experience with the Toyota box.
