Tranny question - what do part houses call mine
The Ford VIN lookup refers to my transmission as a Ford 3-speed light duty trans.
Well I am wanting to acquire a transmission shaft seal for mine and the closest I have come to matching up is a borg-warner t85 or t89.
It's the three on the tree with the highest speed rear end - the lightest combination ford put out according to what I can gather.
My new motto - fixing leaks one step at a time.
Not even going to touch the pinion portion of my leak yet.

1963/83 F100: Type 3.03 was the only 3 speed manual available, excepting 1963/64 F100's with Warner T-86 O/D & 1965/71 F100's with Warner T-85N O/D.
These two 3 speed O/D's were optional.
Note: This 3.03 and etc extension housing seal was also used with the New Process 435 4 speed. Give the chain auto parts store parts-cluck this New Process part number: 96733
