1999 F250 7.3 Still not starting on first try
What do you mean by plugging it in? The motor plug or the battery (I've done both)? I just put a new glow plug relay on and it didn't change a thing. Still does the exact same thing EVERY time... Turn the key on, wait till the "wait to start" light goes out then try to start it. It will crank for a short time and act like the batteries are going down but not start. Then I shut the key off and immediately try the same sequence again, only the second time around, it starts like a new truck. New batteries and new glow plug relay, 60,000 miles garage kept. Are there any 7.3 gurus out there that can help?? Not really wanting to take it somewhere and spend a fortune for something I might be able to do myself with a little help.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

got close to the same problem and more ?
if i don't plug the motor up on cold nights (40's to 50's) it will not start until it warms up ! Also i've try'd to install two different programs in it, 1st was hypertech, 2nd just today a brand new Edge EVO CTS and once again the truck wouldnt take the program. Any Help would be great !

As for your no start, it's probably your GPR (glow plug relay). You need to test it with an ohm meter. In a bind you can jump both large leads for 30 seconds and see if it will start.
