I have been prepping my truck for towing so far. One thing I did i never see mentioned is install a high flow cat to help maintain speed. With my old cat the back pressure caused me to slow down everytime I let off the accelerator but I'm using the 5.8w.

And I replaced all the components in my cooling system. Chain, thermostat, water pump, and radiator ( 2 stage ) instead of the stock one. Also changed out to fresh transmission fluid and added some lucas oil ATF booster to it.

How steep was your driveway?

Next time let the truck idle in park before you shut it off. THAT will let it cool
