2017+ Super Duty The 2017+ Ford F250, F350, F450 and F550 Super Duty Pickup and Chassis Cab

If the next Super Duty had the same cab as the new F150, would you approve?

Last time I traveled to the East coast, I was hard pressed to find one too. Mega's outnumber or at least equal the other cabs on dealers lots out here in Utah and elsewhere in the West. For those trucks on the road, I'd say they probably outnumber the other cabs, but either way, they are very plentiful here. You also see a lot more 8' beds here than you do in the East.

We have more space and room to roam so finding enough space to park your ride or turn it around is never a problem. I've lived all over the country and there definitely preferences from place to place.

I saw the new f150 in person last week. If the next generation of super duty looks like that, I'll probably buy a dodge when the time comes. That cab is the most hideous thing I've seen and I'm not crazy about the interior layout.

My thinking exactly. And I'm going to keep saying it as many time as possible so that Ford -- if they want to listen -- get's a chance to hear. And then it won't weigh on my conscience when I sign papers for the Ram HD.

You hate cab sharing so your plan is to go buy a different truck that has always cab shared? This makes sense to you?

It's not the fact of cab sharing as it's the styling of the cab. I think the 2015 f150 cab, grill is ugly. I'm glad my wife and I bought her a 2014 when we did.

In the sense that I like F150 less than the Ram. If Ford chooses to give up a unique advantage in the HD line they had, it would make sense that it might tip the balance of some customers' thinking.

The 2015 F150 cab feels much bigger than the Super Duty. I prefer a console in the center, so the couple extra inches of width would not be missed. I have wide shoulders and sitting 3 across is not something I let happen while driving. The F150 has much more head and legroom than the SD. I think ford could use the same cab on the SD's, even if they had to widen the cab shell, and still use the basic F150 layout & doors. They are awesome. Super cab doors fold back 170 degrees for parking lot loading.

Looking at the new SD spy pics, the cab looks wider than the 2015 F150's.

In some peoples work, 3 across is unavoidable. Limited number of trucks on site and a high number of people. 5 people per truck, leg room great in the previous F150's but shoulder and hip room lacking. Shoulder and hip room great in the F250 and up but leg room lacking. Front seat riders were fine, but the backseat is the issue.

I think the intent would be to use the cab only and give the SD it's own front clip. I'm not so sure that the front opening on a 2015 F-150 would be big enough for the 6.7L engine.

True, I've been out in the profile pic tow truck to pick up a lady who broke down. She neglected to tell me she had 6 people in the car. One up front, 5 in the supercab. LOL. I had the center console, and I was in the towing business not Limo business!

I hope it was a short trip with small people! 5 across the back of the supercab sounds awful haha

It was a 10 mile city run. One was on another persons lap. They are lucky I took all of them.

Photoshop'd 2016 w/F150 Cab

O.K., O.K. - I don't like it!!! I just Photoshop'd the 2015 F150 Cab onto a picture of my 2015 F350 for the sake of this thread. I even carried the F150 lines onto my bed just for similarity. Awful, in my opinion... I hope Ford stays with a separate cab for the Super Duty trucks for 2016!!!

Regards,

Jim D
