They just phoned me. They got the plugs out! Only a $490 bill! Yay 5.4L... Could've been worse though. I'm happy.

WAAAAY Cool Tro. Glad to hear the tool worked rather than a head gasket set. Please let me know if they were high mileage originals 'cause of PO or aftermarket plugs. My own curiousity.

I think they were off brand replacements but I'll let you know when I get it.

This is why I have never owned anything newer
than The 1990 W250 I bought new. And is broke
down do to wiring problems. I drive an "85 Bronk
and an "85 Civic. Both have problems but they get
me there and back. So far. I can always get
a carb to run even if it's not the carb. But EFI
is just more than I can get my head around. There
will always be a carbed clunker around that I can
make go for the rest of my life anyway. And as
sic as I am that wont be long

Fugly & Smugly under the hood amigos. Like most 'features', on stuff today, it turns into a bug before its done. People keep putting 50K to 60K into new junk, and balk at putting 10K to 15K into an old school Iron, that lasts 40 years or more. All for the sake of "New Features", some of which, kill people. I for one, have the rest of my life, and am not in a big hurry to get to the end of it.

Keep working on the old iron Troz, it will keep you sane. The new junk will drive you crazy..

2x.

There was a recent Ford commercial with a young woman all excited about driving a "computer on wheels". I thought, "Hell, with internet service, network outage,s and screens freezing, why would anybody want to drive a computer on wheels?".

However, I did make a concession to installing Edelbrock's EFI system and recently had to deal with bluetoothing through an Android tablet.

This is common in all of South
America. I would love to be able
to spend some time down there
checking out all the old looking
new Iron. I have been told that
The F series big trucks are still
the most sold and most on the
road. That and air cooled VW.

This kind of crap should never happen, but I'm glad it's over.

Cuba experience

When we stayed at Varadero Cuba we made a day trip to Havana. Hired a guy with a 57 ford. All painted up nice. It had a drive train out of a diesel Mercedes van. Cruised down the highway wandering back and forth. The front end was very loose. it was missing front park lenses. Through our interpret or I offered to mail some when I got back to Canada. The guy had never heard of mail! Beautiful place. Very backward in many ways.
