2"to1&1/2" reducer...

I was in a local K-mart yesterday & saw the item you're looking for. If I'm not mistaken, it's ~10" long & cost $19.95. All welded steel & black powder coated too!

yes sir, 103 days out of service during first 180 days... not so much

They've completely changed over mgmt and have actually started to respond, but too little, too late IMHO.

Glad I found this thread. I have a 1 1/4 bike rack that I've been meaning to convert to 2". Looks like this would do the trick for about $13. Comments on the simple square sleeves indicate a lot of slack, so I think the ID is actually 1 1/2 on those products.
