Bye Bye brake lights

Well after getting a ticket come to find out i have no brake lights. My blinkers and running lights still work. The bulbs are brand new and hoping it was something easy i replaced the brake switch today to no avail. The wiring on the pigtail looks good but after it goes into the harness i have no idea where it comes out to check that. Please someone tell me its something stupid i can fix tomorrow so i dont get anymore tickets.

Thanks

You checked the fuse right?

Use a test light to see if there is power at the brake light switch. If so then press the brake pedal and check the other side to assure power is going through it.

If no power at the switch then it's a problem at the fuse box or from it to the switch.

If power to it and from it it it's between there and the rear.

On these trucks there is 2 fuses that run the turn signal lights, there both 15a fuses in the cab, one feeds the turn signal flasher and reverse lights, the other one feeds the hazard flasher and brake switch.

Do your hazard lights work? If yes, the green wire coming off the brake switch goes up the steering column to the turn signal switch, either the wire is broken or the switch is bad, if your rear turn signals work its not going to be the wiring from the turn signal switch to the lights as the turn signal and brake signal use the same wire and filament in the bulb.
