Replacing 3.0 in an '02. New engine has oil cooler.

Hey guys! I just purchased my first Escape, '02 XLT 3.0 FWD, from a customer and it has a blown engine. Planning on doing the swap this weekend. I've done all my homework on the process but the engine I got is from an '04 Tribute that has a factory oil cooler on it.

My question is, how can I use the cooler on my Escape? One hose from the cooler goes to the water pump and the other connects somewhere and I can't figure out where. Anyone have any pictures or explanation where it goes?

Also, are there any other differences in these engines I might run into??

Easy. See my post today on swap hints.

The oil cooler behind the oil filter is held on by the nipple that the filter screws into. It has an internal hex. Just get an allen key socket and take it out and insert into the donor motor.

Just did it on my swap two days ago.
