I'd say that's worth some feedback to Dewalt, Justin.

No such thing as off topic here.

Makes me think of all the batteries I have laying around my bench because they cost so darn much to replace, I ignorantly hope that some benevolent celestial being will wave his/her/it's wand and they will magically repair theirselves and be just like new again.
No, no I'm not bitter........or ignorant.........or .............yes I am.
You got a soap box handy?

Lol
I've chucked prolly 4 or five bodies this year between my place up north and here just because I bought new ones with new batteries.
Seems moronic to do that but, if the shoe fits, I guess I are one.

i hear ya, i hate to toss the dead ones cause i seem to think ill get them rebuilt but seems that i end up getting a new tool or kit or 2 new batts, and never get to my dead ones.

there is a few vendors with dewalt 18volt 3000mAH batts for 35 bucks and free shipping, might be worth buying a pack or two and see how long they hold up.

That was sad news to wake up to. He was as good as any of them, IMO. Probably my favorite slide/blues player.

Tool batteries.

I've used this place to have some rebuilt.
http://www.wcbatteryrebuilders.com/

But they used to be in Anaheim, now their address is Indio. Haven't kept up with the company, so don't have a current review of their work. I would use them again, but buyer beware.

Thanks Bill, I'm going to give them a try. I'm tired of the 18v's only holding a charge for 2 mins of work.

Just keep in mind, NiCad is really old battery technology. If you've got some favorite tools that you just can't let go, rebuilding those batteries might be worth it.

I just got my first Lithium Ion cordless drill about a year ago, and I'm totally amazed by that thing. It's like a whole different world of power tool. I've lost interest in saving any of my NiCad stuff.

Mine are all Ryobi. Good point Bill, but the tools are only 5 yrs old and still have some life yet. I bet in another 5 yrs, well have another technology breakthrough. Reminds me of 8-track tapes; wish I had skipped that era.

I lost interest in NiCad my freshman year of highschool. Our studio cameras used nicad and they lasted like 15 minutes. That did it for me. We kept a stack on those battery refresher things.
