Need advice please!

I test drove 2 F250 Lariat CC this week, a 2009 V8 and 2015 V8. Both of these trucks had absolutely no power in my opinion!! I was shocked! I felt like a had to floor the gas pedal to get anything out of truck. With that being said, is the V10 feel any different? Both trucks just felt so sluggish, but rode nice, especially the 2015!!

I want a gasser due to I will not be driving this truck all the time and when I do it will be for more short commutes vs long commutes with less towing. I will tow stuff on the farm from time to time with it. No, I do not want a F150 due to it is too small for me. What are my options here...... I know I got lower the gearing in the gasser, but the gas mileage is already bad enough in these trucks. The diesel has all the power I need and love, but is there anything I can do to get a diesel be able to work with short commutes?? I'm so lost here, I want a gasser, but not enough power; the diesel has all the power I want, but doesn't fit what I need it for. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREAT HERE. Thanks guys!

Check out the videos from the Ohio truck pull off. The 6.2 gasser pulled just as good as the 6.7 diesel. If you are displeased with the 6.2, then not much is going to be powerful enough for you. One makes power from 3,000 rpm and up and the other makes it below 3,000 rpm. Same result, just different feel.

Try a V-10 with 4.3 rear axle ratio , if your definition of power means towing serious loads . But if you are looking for a performance that will get up to the hill top first , you may have to look elsewhere .

Its not common for dealers to order trucks with a low gear ratio. Check the rear gear ratios. I'll bet they have the low ratio.. what is it these days, still 3.73? With a gas V8 you need a much lower rear ratio.

That 6.2 w/4.30's was very strong! I want to trade my 3.73's for 4.30's!

Keep in mind that truck was also tuned. But, yes, it was a very strong truck.

My father in law has a 6.4 diesel and it feels great unloaded and plenty of power. The two v8s felt like they had no acceleration at the stop lights. Seems I may need lower gearing.

Don't know if you watched the videos in the thread mentioned earlier, but this will give you an idea what each is capable of doing. The 2000 V-10, 2011 6.2 gas, and my 7.3 diesel all had some kind of tune in them, so they were not stock. The 2013 6.7 however was stock.
