Ive ridden in silverbullets truck once and it was impressive and racey. Hated to miss this year. Ill try again next year.

 

I'm glad to see nobody blew up, will keep an eye out for next years challenge, maybe 16" tires will make up for no tune, other than the atlas40 ficm.

Really wish I could have made it this year. Really wanted to go, but just was too busy with work and had too much other things going on. Really was a last minute decision Saturday night not to go. Sorry I didn't give you a heads up that I wasn't coming.

Looks like you guys had a good time. Hopefully I can make it next year, really would like to. Would love to see how my truck could do. I'll definitely try to make it next year.

 

good pulls. man i wish ohio wasnt so far from the gulf coast. sure would like to join you boys one day. im a 7.3 guy, but man i like hearing them gas engines just a singing that sweet song as they charge up the hill. Its amazing the different setups and transformations these trucks have gone thru over the years. That 6.7 pull was impressive. I would be curious to see how my dads truck would do on that hill, f550 7.3 with 4.88 rear. i would imagine the low gear would allow the motor to sing like the gassers early on in the climb.

 

It's 4.3 miles from Mikes house to SR 60 at the bottom of the hill where we turn around with a decent hill or two on the way. Then the 20% plus grade going up to Mike's cul-de-sac!!

 

You're absolutely right! That route we ran in itself is a real good test as to how your truck can handle that load with regards to handling, braking, (that is understated in our tests) and just the over all feel of your truck with that load. I know the hill to his house is a lot shorter that the one we tested on, but given that you need to come almost to a stop for the bump there, it too is a good test.

 

Awesome videos, thanks for posting them up. I am so impressed with how well the 6.2L does with 4.30 gears, amazing.

If I weren't 2000 miles away I would totally be there.

Question: in all your years of doing this, have you ever had a 2v V10 with 4.30 gears make the pull?

 

No we have not had a 2v V10 with 4.30 pull unfortunately. Quad Racer had his 3v V10 with 4.30s and 35" tires last year but that is it for V10s and 4.30s. All the 2v's all have had 3.73s.

 

That 6.7 seemed to rocket of the line, holy smokes!

 

It could have been better I think if I had started in 4wd.

That sound you hear right at the beginning is the four rear tires breaking loose.

 

Even with that. That 6.7 seems like a beast. Good thing I have zero money to spend on a truck. Ha.

 

On some truck test videos I have seen, they ran competing trucks down a hill while pulling a load, then measured the brake temperature with an IR thermometer as soon as you got to the bottom of the hill. The theory being the cooler the brakes the better.

 

We ran the smell test and on one of the runs back at the house we had a little smoke on the trailer.
